Having the middle and lower classes pay for the privileged upper middle class college is Marxist Communism – where some are “more equal” than others. Why should those who can’t afford college pay for those who decide to take out massive loans? Good decision to halt the ‘forgiveness’
If they want to lower their student loan debt, give them a forgiveness of $40k for after each 2 years they serve in the military. This might help solve some of the shortage problems they’re having in the military branches. They have made a mess with these student debt, maybe the universities need to take the loss for graduating students with absolutely no skills to enter the workforce.
Are you kidding. Look at some of these losers, do you want to give them a gun. If they didn’t shoot themselves in the foot, they’d shoot you for telling them they can’t have blue hair and wear a thong into battle.
Years ago, the army had the “STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM”. For every year you served, they took a year off of the cash you owed”. That’s the only program I’d agree with.
Maybe the military is not where you want to put them, maybe tell them that have to work so many years on the Indian reservations or in inner city clinics. Let them see for themselves what poverty is and that they are not the second coming they think they are.
The gov’t should never have been involved in college loans – that has driven up college costs since colleges are guaranteed payment. Freeze the outstanding loan interest rates at very low amount but do not forgive principal owed on loans – taxpayers should not be funding the education of strangers….

If the benefactors want lower loans, try not to use credit cars and find a job!
