The real proof is the number of times he stopped his Limo to offer a Street Squeegie guy a job, or the Fact he has hired no less than 100 Black’s off the street to work for him. Or maybe it’s the Fact he refused to use White Union Contractors because he wanted Non Union Minority Contractors. Or just maybe the Fact he has 5 used to be Homeless Black Man living in Trump Tower Rent free the last 15 years. I’ll bet you can’t show or prove 1 thing besides using the old bullshit lines of he refused to rent to blacks. That Lie has been debunked a few hundred times over. On the other hand, I live in a neighborhood filled with blacks, immigrants, and other minorities, mostly from areas in and around the Caribbean. Most of my fellow white friends, especially senior white women friends, would not live in this neighborhood, partly because of their racism, and partly because of their fear of the unknown. But I, a rare white senior man living in this rather different neighborhood, benefit significantly from living here. This is a suburban, not urban, area, and most of the blacks here are middle-class homeowners, not ghetto criminals, so it is nice, peaceful and respectable, not run down. And because so many other senior whites refuse to live here, the demand for rental housing is lower, and so my rent is low, very low, compared to the areas where many of my other white friends live. The economic law of supply and demand is at work here: if the demand is lower, then the price will be lower, for a given supply (of available rental housing, in this case). The opposite is true where most of my prejudiced white friends live: the demand is higher, to live there (because there are few blacks & minorities living in that area), and so the cost to live in a rental in that area, is much higher (because there is only a fixed amount of low cost rentals available, that my impoverished friends can afford). And so many of my impoverished friends struggle to find housing–or are homeless (rather than considering living in an area like the one that I live in). And so their prejudice and fear hurts them, while I get along fine with my neighbors, and benefit from the low rent that I am paying, to live here, in this area, too.
